Dr Natalie Stott offers twenty prompts for reflecting on your therapy year and planning what comes next.
ABOUT THE EPISODE
Natalie guides listeners through questions about gratitude, growth, challenges and what clients have taught them.
The episode makes space to reflect on identity as a therapist and set intentions for the coming year.
Natalie's questions create space to consider gratitude, growth, challenges and the support that has made the work possible. Looking across the year can reveal patterns that are harder to see when attention is focused only on the next client or immediate task.
The exercise also invites therapists to consider what clients have taught them. This does not mean turning client experience into a lesson for the therapist; it means reflecting carefully on how the work has shaped understanding, skill and responsibility.
Professional identity changes through experience, supervision and the questions therapists continue to ask themselves. Reflecting on that identity can make room for both confidence and uncertainty rather than requiring a polished account of progress.
Intentions for the coming year can then grow from what has actually been noticed. Planning does not need to resolve every challenge, but it can identify priorities, support and directions that feel connected to the therapist's work and values.
