ABOUT THE EPISODE
In this solo episode, Natalie shares ways to make the practical side of therapy work less cumbersome.
The practical work around therapy can become cumbersome through repeated small tasks rather than one obvious problem. Scheduling, email, paperwork and invoicing can each take a little more attention than necessary, particularly when information is spread across several systems.
Natalie explores ways to notice that friction and consider what could be simpler. Moving towards paperless working or a clearer process is not about adding technology for its own sake; it is about reducing the administrative load around the clinical work.
A useful practice system makes the next step clear and repeatable. Thoughtful scheduling, email routines and invoicing processes can reduce the need to remember every task from scratch and make it easier to see what still needs attention.
Streamlining does not mean making the practice impersonal. The aim is to let reliable systems hold routine work so that the therapist has more capacity for clients, professional responsibilities and the parts of the practice that genuinely need judgement.
