How can energy psychology be explained in practice?

Dr Coral Westaway introduces energy psychology, tapping, meridians and chakras, including how she discusses these ideas with clients. The episode includes a live EFT demonstration so listeners can hear how the approach may look in a practical conversation.

Explaining the model requires attention to the client's existing understanding and questions. The therapist does not need to assume that specialist language will automatically feel meaningful; a clear introduction can help the client decide whether the approach is something they want to explore.

Where might tapping sit alongside other therapy models?

Coral and Natalie discuss integrating tapping with EMDR and IFS rather than presenting it as isolated from other therapeutic work. Any combination still needs a rationale, attention to trauma work and clarity about the therapist's competence and boundaries.

The conversation also addresses the evidence base and therapist self-care. This supports a stance that is curious about the method while continuing to ask what is known, what remains uncertain and how the technique is being used with this client.
